This isn’t a video game. This is MY BODY.

themangledmasterpiece:

I hate it when people say things like: “Abortion is too easy an option. It’s the easy way out. It’s irresponsible. Blahblahblah, I worship fetuses.”

My father always taught me: “Work smarter, not harder.”

I’m not someone who backs away from challenges, if succeeding means that I will acquire something I need or desire. I’m all for hard work when it’s necessary. I’m all for taking responsibility for my actions.

Abortion is my method of taking responsibility for getting pregnant. The wonderful thing about human beings is that we come up with ways to make life EASIER for ourselves so that we can PURSUE OUR TRUE AMBITIONS. I never want children. My intentions are to be child-free for life. I have ambitions that would be ruined if I had a child. So the responsible thing for ME to do if I were to get pregnant, is abort.

Let’s take a look at all the ways we make life easier for ourselves.

  1. We use toilets as oppose to digging holes and burying our waste.
  2. We cure illnesses instead of letting them kill us.
  3. We live indoors.
  4. We don’t have to hunt for food or skin animals for warmth. We have something called stores.
  5. We use the internet to communicate with people that we’d otherwise have to send mail to, or swim across the goddamn ocean.
  6. We have other methods of transportation besides our feet.
  7. Pain-killers.
  8. Shoes.

I can go on all fucking day.

Abortion, to me, is just more evidence of how advanced we’ve become. So cut it out and stop trying to sound all high and mighty. I’m not going to GO OUT OF MY WAY to make life harder for myself, when what’s actually BEST FOR ME just so happens to be the easiest route to take. Yes, aborting is easier than giving birth and raising a kid. That doesn’t make it an irresponsible choice. What would be irresponsible would be me forcing myself to be pregnant for nine months and give birth just to prove that I can.

Stop telling me how to have sex.
Stop telling me what contraceptives to use.
Stop telling me what to do with my body.
Get off your high horse.
Stop implying that the challenges you find necessary to put yourself through are the same challenges I must face. We want different things out of life.

And while you’re at it, fuck yourself.
